BEDFORD, N.J. — Iron baby carriages are about to hit the market in New Brunswick.
The first to be introduced in the state, the iron carriage will be sold at a price point of $7,000 for a family of four.
The iron carriage is the brainchild of a New Brunswick resident and his wife.
He told the Brunswick Times-Union that they’ve been interested in building a new home in the city for years, but no one else in town was interested.
He said the carriages were an easy option to get started on.
The couple has been renting a house near the Brunswick City Airport for about a year, but decided to buy their first home.
The iron carriage would help cover the costs of a renovation.
“The carriages have been the mainstay of our life,” he said.
“It’s been a very good thing for us and for our future.”
The family plans to move into their new home as soon as possible.
The family’s new home is located at 619 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100.
The family hopes to build a new life for their family in New Jersey.
“I’m a little sad to see the carousel go, but I’m excited to have a home,” said the husband, Robert.
The carousel will not be available for sale in New York, but a family member is planning to build one in California.
